Congressional Gold Medal Reception – Feb. 26th

By Webmaster

On November 2,  the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal was awarded to our veterans of World War II from the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and the Military Intelligence Service by U.S. House Speaker John Boehner.  Over 300 veterans were in attendance along with thousands of widows, family and friends to mark this once in a lifetime occasion.

We know that many could not attend the Washington, D.C events so we are planning a local celebration on February 26, 2012 at the Multnomah Athletic Club.

Attached is the SAVE the DATE postcard and a sponsorship letter.  If you would like to help sponsor a veteran’s lunch and/or the replica of the Congressional Gold Medal, now is your chance.  Deadline is January 16, 2012 to be listed in our commemorative program.

A commemorative program, similar to the one given out in Washington, D.C, will be printed for our special event.  Opportunities to place congratulatory ads are available.   For ads, deadline is January 16,, 2012 to be listed in our commemorative program.

Hope you will join us to celebrate this momentous occasion!  Please feel free to share this with others.
