Rajio Taiso at the Portland Japanese Gardens

Future of the JET Program


Many of you have perhaps heard that the JET Program has recently come under scrutiny and the future of the program is being evaluated by the government as to whether or not to continue funding. Read media coverage here.

At the National Conference, it was decided that all JETAA chapters throughout the World would create videos showing each chapter performing rajio taiso in an effort to show the JET Program & Alumni reach of Japanese culture.

Therefore, a group of JETAA Portland members gathered at the Portland Japanese Gardens on Wednesday, September 15th and created the following video:

We hope that this video can help show people in Japan that their culture and influence extend well beyond their borders. Thanks again for all the members who turned out. We had a great time!
