Feel the beats resonate from the top of your head to the soles of your feet in this year’s season finale concert Taiko Unleased on October 2-3. The entire performing group will roll out the big drums to rumble the Newmark Theatre with our honored guest artists Grand Master Seiichi Tanaka and San Francisco Taiko Dojo. Grand Master Tanaka founded the taiko dojo in 1968, bringing the art form of taiko from Japan to America in hopes that like “sushi” and “karate” the word “taiko” would become a part of the American vocabulary. PT and the North American taiko community owe these taiko pioneers a debt of gratitude. Experience this captivating blend of martial arts, powerful athleticism, and pounding taiko rhythms.
