Volunteers needed for Mochitsuki 2006.

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a nice holiday season!! My name is Sarah Hamreus and I am the newest addition to the JETAA team as the Community Development Chair.

Are you interested in Japanese culture? Do you like mochi? Do you have some time available on Sunday, January 29th?

I am in charge of the Mochitsuki 2006 JETAA Portland Booth this year. Every year we have a "fishing game" for the kids that come to the Mochitsuki cultural fair. I need volunteers to help out!! The cultural fair is Sunday, January 29th from 12-4pm (see details and website information below). Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to help out.

Also, if anyone is interested in buying tickets for the shows (the cultural fair is free with a ticket to one of the shows or the cultural fair alone is a "suggested" donation of $1-$2) you should contact me ASAP. Tickets are $10 and there are 2 shows. Tickets are available for $10+ svc charge through tickets west, or $10 without a service charge through me.

Two performances at 1:00 PM and 3:00PM in the Performing Arts Center. Admission to "Mochi Madness" also includes entrance to the Cultural Fair. Adults $10, Students/Seniors (65+) $7, Children (2-12) $4, children under 2 are free. Tickets available at all Safeway TicketsWest Ticket Centers (tickets subject to service charge, all sales final).

Plus Cultural Fair! The cultural fair is in the College Center, and runs from noon to 4:00 PM. Admission is included with a ticket to "Mochi Madness." For participation in just the cultural fair, the suggested donation is $2 for adults and $1 for children.

JETAA Shinnenkai 2006
Saturday, January 14th

Come join us for JETAA's annual Celebration of Possibility

By popular demand we have been able to negotiate Todai into a bit more space for the JETAA Shinenkai. We have increased the reservation to 70, but RSVPs are flying in- so best get your name on our guest list before the big night.

This year's shindig will be held at Todai Japanese Buffet in downtown Portland.
