Oregon Buddhist Temple’s Obonfest 2009 will include all your favorite summer Japanese matsuri snacks, Taiko peformances, talks, martial arts demonstrations, and more.

When: Saturday, August 1st 4-9 p.m. (dancing starts at 6:30 pm)
Where: Oregon Buddhist Temple, 3720 SE 34th Ave.

Obon Nijikai – Yukata & Uchiwa Party
Huh? In case you’ve forgotten those common Japanese words: Ancestor’s Festival Post-Gathering Party: Summer Kimono & Fan Party. Gather at Daniel Mick’s house after enjoying the festivities of the Oregon Buddhist Temple ObonFest for some post-festival fun. Wear your yukata and wave your uchiwa for an authentic Japanese experience. Snacks will be provided, BYOB.

Where: 306 SE 30th Place (not Avenue). 1 block North of Stark, 2 blocks South of Burnside.
