2016 Toyama Cup Japanese Speech Contest

The annual Toyama Cup Japanese Speech Contest is sponsored by Toyama Prefecture and held every year in Toyama’s Sister State of Oregon. This Japanese speech contest for college/university students was first held to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of our Sister State relationship and has seen 251 students compete over its 19-year history. This year’s Speech Contest has a special significance due to the 25th Anniversary of the Oregon/Toyama Sister State relationship.

This year’s contest will be held April 24, 2016 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the World Trade Center in Portland. The Japan America Society of Oregon is currently seeking volunteers to help with the speech contest. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Keiko Yamada at kyamada@jaso.org or (503) 552-8811.
