2010 Bounenkai & Tunes of Japan

By Webmaster

Join in the fun as JETAA Portland says sayonara to 2010 at the annual Bounenkai!

This year we’ve added a new event prior to the Bounenkai. JETAA Portland is sponsoring “Tunes of Japan“, featuring music performances by JETAA member Sarah Coomber (koto) and Kohei Kimura (Tsugaru shamisen) accompanied by Yumi Torimaru (Taiko drum). JETAA Portland is inviting all Japan affiliated groups to attend this event (such as JASO, Portland Sapporo Sister City Association, Consulate General of Japan, etc.) It is a great chance to network with the many organizations dedicated to promoting Japan and Japanese culture in the Portland community.

After the music performances, we’ll share a sukiyaki or vegetarian meal in the authentic tatami rooms at Bush Garden! It’s a great chance to meet new friends, catch up with old ones, and get back into the enkai spirit. We’ll follow up with free karaoke in the lounge.

When: Friday, December 10
Where: Bush Garden, 900 SW Morrison Street
Time: 6 pm Tunes of Japan (Free networking and music event), 7 pm Bounenkai

Cost of Bounenkai: JETAA Members: $15; JETAA Friends: $20
