Japanese Garden Volunteers Needed – Aug. 11th – 18th

The Japanese Garden is currently installing their latest Art in the Garden exhibition. It is a bamboo exhibition entitled Bending Nature: Four Bamboo Artists in the Garden. Read more about this exhibit here.

One of the four bamboo artists, Shigeo Kawashima, needs the help of volunteers to create a large bamboo sculpture for the Garden. It is a very large bamboo archway. Volunteers will tie small strips of bamboo to the framework to create the arch. Here are the volunteer shifts available:

· August 11th: 1-3pm
· August 12th: 10-12pm or 1-3pm
· August 13th: 10-12pm or 1-3pm
· August 15th: 9-12pm or 1-3pm
· August 16th: 10-12pm
· August 17th: 10-12pm
· August 18th: 10-12pm
