Volunteer Opportunity: Intercultural Communication Institute

By Webmaster

Looking to get involved with the intercultural community, meet new people, and make a difference in the lives of a few international students? The Intercultural Communication Institute is looking for short-term volunteers to accompany a group of Japanese students from Aoyama Gakuin University who will be visiting Portland from August 30-September 12.

They have a great line-up of fun activities, day trips, and workshops that you can join. All you have to do is sign up, show up, and engage. Volunteer for a week, a day, or even just a few hours! The students are looking forward to meeting Portland locals and speaking English.

No previous experience required. There is no cost to you and the benefits of forming life-long friendships with these students is well worth the time spent.

If you would like to volunteer, please email Sandy Garrison at sandyg@intercultural.org and she will give you the details.

The Portland Chapter of JETAA (The JET Program Alumni Association) was created to serve the bonds of friendship developed by the program participants. JETAA’s purpose is to achieve, through its activities, a broader and deeper understanding between Japan and the other countries participating in the program.
